Location

Good Harbour House is located in the hamlet of Vikra, on the island of Karmøy.

Karmøy lies between Utsira and the mainland Norwegian town of Haugesund.

Vikra is at the south-western tip of the island, just north of the slightly larger hamlet of Sandve. The house faces directly west, with views over the North Sea.

The soft, golden sands of Sandve beach are approximately 15 minutes walk from GoodHarbour House and are a popular Summer destination for tourists and locals alike.

The nearest town is the picturesque white-painted wooden town, Skudeneshavn. formerly famous as a wooden ship-building centre. Skudeneshavn won second prize in NORTA's competition for Norway's Best Preserved Small Town in 1990 and in 2004 was elected Norway's favourite Summer Town. (see below)
